the day of waiting...

So the day of adventure began with an early morning departure at 7am...or 7:30...then we drove for 3+ hours with a couple stops along the way and arrived at the cable car station only to RUN to the line and wait for 2+ hours. We finally got to the top of the mountain (yeah right) at 2pm and began the hike. I got a head start and walked alone for about 30 minutes when the group caught up with me. I didn't think there was any chance I could make it but one of the Livada staff, my good friend Angela, stuck with me and conquered that mountain. Granted we did not make it to the actual cross, but we did make it to the hill where you can see the cross so yay, that was our goal. Then when we were walking down to the cable car station we were amazed at how far we'd gone up. It was a thrill and a huge accomplishment! So we walk back down the mountain and one of the people from our group came and said the wait to go down in the cable car was 2.5 hours, I thought she was kidding, but no. I thought I was going to die waiting, it was so hot and no air, but I survived. We made it down and ran to the vans and drove to Brasov for dinner, it was then 8pm, the time I thought we'd be home. We were sent into Brasov for 1.5 hours to eat dinner and see some things and then about 2 hours later, 30 minutes late we actually left, at 10pm. About 12:40am we made it home and I was in bed by 1am so I could go see my babies today. It was a long, hot, tiring, amazing day. If you want to see pictures, check out my photo album. Thanks!
